I got my Ph.D. in 2011 at the Advanced Research Center on Electronic Systems for Information and Communication Technologies E. De Castro (ARCES) of the University of Bologna, Bologna Italy. After that, I was a post-doc for two years (2011 to 2013) at the Centre de Recherche en Imagerie Medicale ( CREATIS ), Lyon, France and for two more years at the Medical Imaging Research Center of KU Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. Since October 2015, I have a Marie Curie scholarship (AFIBROTIC project) within the Department of Electric and Electronic Engineering of the University of Bologna. My expertise is in the development of algorithms for the computer aided quantification of medical images, with a focus on cardiac ultrasound. Core technologies of my research include image segmentation, image registration, image deconvolution, shape analysis, tissue characterization and computational modelling. A complete list of my publications is available here. I also have a Google Scholar and a Scopus account.
